Mobile Communications (Qld) Pty Ltd (MCQ) is a privately owned organisation formed following the demise of Fred Hoe & Sons Pty Ltd (FHS) in 1987. The remote area communications division of FHS was purchased to form the core of the business and MCQ commenced to service the needs of the metropolitan and rural communications markets. MCQ also attained numerous agencies crucial to its operation, including the existing ICOM VHF & UHF two-way radio dealership, various antenna-manufacturing dealerships and other radio-based accessory dealerships. Due to the absence of affordable satellite communications products and service, HF radio maintained a large market share and MCQ was appointed as a dealer for CODAN HF radio products.
Over the years MCQ has expanded and diversified, complimenting the traditional HF radio sales by adding TAIT & GME VHF & UHF commercial two-way radios to the product range. MCQ also markets GARMIN GPS units and has developed its own software for GPS tracking of vehicles in remote locations. MCQ has also provided satellite telephone products to the Queensland market.
A great part of the MCQ success story can be attributed to its ability to attract and retain competent highly motivated staff. The technical staff have over 80 years two-way radio experience between them with 75% of them being employed by MCQ for over 17 years. Even the accounts staff have been with the company for over 10 years.
We are very proud of the reputation we have built in the field of customer/dealer service, particularly in outback Queensland. MCQ is focused on delivering not only quality product, but offering full after-market support in all areas of product representation and expertise. We frequently travel to remote areas to service and maintain the various products sold by MCQ. As a result of our strong customer/dealer commitment, we regularly conduct/attend dealer conferences, ensuring that we maintain product awareness and knowledge.
The company holds full quality accreditation to AS/NZS ISO9002-1994.
Market research, emerging technologies, innovative products and production techniques will contribute in keeping MCQ at the forefront of the wireless data market in Australia.
